YOSHIKO [HIRASAWA Yoshiko]. Untitled. Silkscreen print, edit - Lot 474
YOSHIKO [HIRASAWA Yoshiko]. Untitled. Silkscreen print, edition 18/50, signed in pencil, mounted in a frame. Frame dimensions: 77 x 56.5 cm; print dimensions: 75.5 x 55 cm; image dimensions: 70 x 50 cm (water stain on the back of the frame, but the artwork is undamaged). A lovely autograph dedication by Yoshiko on the back of the frame: “To Jean-Pierre Faye and Marie-Odile / the poet with the white hair (sic) of an angel and his goddess / in memory of the most beautiful encounter / of my infinite journey / to the wasteland / [Signature] / April 8, 1982 / Paris.” A former Japanese television presenter, Yoshiko moved to Paris in 1974 to devote herself to painting. Her works explore, in particular, the concepts of the fragment, time, and mediumistic images. Her first exhibition took place at the Triskèle Gallery, where she met Surrealist artists. She is mentioned in the *Dictionnaire général du Surréalisme et de ses environs*.
