FRANCE (Anatole). Au petit bonheur. An unpublished one-act comedy first performed on June 1, 1898. [Paris], for Pierre Dauze, 1898, 4°, Bradel binding in cherry-red half-maroquin, smooth spine, author’s name, title, and year gilt, marbled endpapers, cover of pink- and blue-speckled torchon paper, well-preserved. (Binding signed by Noulhac). Etched portrait of the author by Ladislas Loewy. First edition consisting of a hand-copied reproduction of Anatole France’s manuscript. Limited edition of 50 numbered copies (copy no. 19). This play was first performed at Madame Arman de Caillavet’s home on June 1, 1898; the roles were played by Georges Feydeau and Robert de Flers. A fine copy./ IDEM. *Les Noces corinthiennes*. Paris, Alphonse Lemerre, 1876, in-12, red half-shagreen with corners, spine with 5 raised bands, author, title, and year gilded, gilded head, cover and spine intact (corners and caps slightly rubbed). Ex-libris. First edition, printed in a run of 500 unnumbered copies. / Set of 2 vols.
