[OSTWALD (Wilhelm). Die Farbkreise (Farbnormen 3). 28 Tafeln - Lot 418
[OSTWALD (Wilhelm). Die Farbkreise (Farbnormen 3). 28 Tafeln und Text. Leipzig, Unesma, [1925], 4°, leaves, 28 color plates, in publisher's flap folder with gold titling on upper cover. First edition. Complete with all 28 plates, but without the advertised text. This would be the 3rd edition, after those of 1920 and 1924, and before the 4th and last of 1930. Wilhelm Friedrich Ostwald (1853-1932) was a German-Baltic chemist. From 1901 onwards, Ostwald turned his attention to color, with the aim of scientifically establishing a chromatic system and making possible a theory of color harmony that could serve as a basis for aesthetics and the art of painting. Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1909. Rare.
