APOLLINAIRE (Guillaume). Small black percaline notebook comp - Lot 508
APOLLINAIRE (Guillaume). Small black percaline notebook comprising 22 handwritten pages, the rest left blank. Precious little account book used by Apollinaire in 1913, the year of publication of Alcools and Les Peintres cubistes. There are many references to his collaboration with the "Bibliothèque des Curieux" publishing house on rue de Furstenberg, to Perceval published by Payot, and to his role as director of the "Tous les Arts" collection published by Figuière. We learn that he paid Maurice Raynal his royalties for the volume on Puvis de Chavannes, that he himself received royalties for a volume on Lautrec... There is also a statement of his household and other expenses (trip to Berlin in January 1913, rent for the apartment on boulevard Saint-Germain 202 he moved into at the beginning of the same month, bus fare, newspapers, cigars...). Another form of writing appears, taking over from the poet's when it comes to household accounts. Is it the handwriting of Marie Laurencin, from whom he will soon be separating? Or, more likely, that of Baron Mollet, who was beginning to act as his secretary.
