Paris, Les Amis des Éditions de Minuit, 1951, in-12, 271 p., bradel with full taupe calf boards, smooth spine crossed lengthwise by a pearl-gray box strip under which the author's name is titled in palladium, boards titled lengthwise six times with the spaced letters "M O L L O Y" in each row, one of which is titled in palladium, the others in cold, lining and endpapers in light gray Japon vergé paper, covers and spine cons, matching half calf jacket lined with beige lambskin velvet, spine titled in palladium, slipcase (binding signed H. Liesen, 2014). Ex-libris Jacques Culot. Reproduction of a portrait of Beckett by John Minihan pasted on the front cover. First edition printed at 550 copies, numbered 1/500 alfa from Navarre paper mills, 2nd paper after 50 vellum, with the mention and cover printed in black especially for "Les Amis des Editions de Minuit". Beckett's first work published by Editions de Minuit. Nobel Prize for Literature 1969. A very fine copy in a remarkable binding by Hugo Liesen.
