LE CORBUSIER-SAUGNIER. Vers une architecture. Paris, G. Crès - Lot 532
LE CORBUSIER-SAUGNIER. Vers une architecture. Paris, G. Crès, [1923], 8°, 230 p., green half-percaline, smooth spine titled in gold, covers not cons. First edition. Le Corbusier's first work associated with the name Saugnier (the maiden name of painter Amédée Ozenfant's mother), "Vers une architecture" is a collection of essays, first published in the magazine "L'Esprit Nouveau". Published in 1923, "Vers une architecture" remains one of the manifesto texts of the Modern Movement. Architectural critic Reyner Banham considers it "the only writing on architecture to be ranked among the great literary works of the twentieth century". A good copy.
