THIRY (Marcel). Toi qui pâlis au nom de Vancouver. Liège, Ge - Lot 273
THIRY (Marcel). Toi qui pâlis au nom de Vancouver. Liège, Georges Thone, 1924, 8° agenda, 44 p., br. (cover stitched). Autograph signed letter to Grégoire Le Roy, Belgian writer and engraver (1862-1941): "En hommage d'admiration au grand / et lointain poète / de la Couronne des Soirs et de la Chanson du Pauvre / M Thiry". First edition printed in 160 copies, numbered 1/150 vélin d'Arches, 2nd paper after 10 Japon. Although his first collection, "Le Coeur et les sens" (1919), was still strongly influenced by the symbolism of which he had been a teenager, it was the fusion of this with the modernity of Apollinaire (from whom he had been separated by the war) that inspired him to write "Toi qui pâlis au nom de Vancouver" (1924), a work that was to remain with him for a long time, to the point of serving as the overall title of the volume collecting his poetic work published in 1975.
