First edition of this confession of the author's lovemaking, written in 1932 in the port of Cannes on Francis Picabia's yacht, "L'Horizon". Second edition published at 55 copies on Arches paper. Copy no. 28, without the engraving by Jacques Villon announced in the justification. Pierre de Massot (1900-1969) was a French writer associated with avant-garde artistic movements, particularly Dadaism and Surrealism. In several of his works, he perpetuated the memory of Erik Satie, whom he had met through his friend Francis Picabia, to whom he dedicated a monograph, published late in his life by Seghers. A close friend of Jean Cocteau and André Gide, he was also associated with the painter Marcel Duchamp.
