La Révolte des machines ou la Pensée déchaînée. P., Pierre Vorms, 1947, 8°, 131 p., br. with illustrated cover, uncut. Edition illustrated with a woodcut in bistre on the cover and 33 in-text woodcuts in black by Frans Masereel. In 1921, Romain Rolland, in collaboration with Masereel, had composed a text intended to be adapted for the cinema. A first edition of 210 copies was printed in 1921, but was never released, and the film never saw the light of day. The present edition was printed in 1610 copies on Guyenne white vellum. A fine copy.
