GERTLER (Tibor). Set of some forty drawings and sketches (ca. 1922). Drawings in pencil, colored pencil or ink. Various sizes, generally around A4. Various states (folds, tears, stains). Tibor Gertler (1902-1991) studied Fine Arts in Budapest, before opening a drawing and painting studio in Brussels, where he taught until 1939. He then lived in the artists' housing estate, La Ruche, in Paris. He exhibited in Ostend from 1930, then in Lyon, Brussels, Paris, Budapest... His last exhibition was at the Galerie Vieille du Temple in 1989. His works are in the print cabinet of the Royal Library of Belgium, the Fine Arts Museum in Budapest and the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris. Tibor is the brother of violinist André Gertler.
