[TZARA (Tristan). Open letter to André Germain. Supplement t - Lot 842
[TZARA (Tristan). Open letter to André Germain. Supplement to the first and only number of the review "Oesophage", directed by E.L.T. Mesens. Brux, March 1925, 1 sheet 4°, printed in black on green paper. With Magritte, Mesens plans in October 1924 to launch the review "Période", sunk since before its birth by a leaflet of Paul Nougé. He founded, in March 1925, "Oesophage" which counts among its collaborators, Jean Arp, Max Ernst, Georges Ribemont-Dessaignes, Picabia, Kurt Schwitters, Tristan Tzara, René Magritte... In this open letter, Tristan Tzara responds to André Germain who had accused him of being subservient to the Beaumonts, the patrons who organized the Soirées de Paris: "If I make this clarification public today, it is so that those who still need to learn it, know that your word is only good for wiping that part of your body to which I will not do myself the injustice of applying my kick. But in spite of your little voice of a bitter and sick old woman, I will pull your ears the next time I meet you". Rare and beautiful copy.
