MULLER (Jacques). "Subway in Brooklyn" (ca 1982). Acrylic on canvas, mounted on a stretcher, titled, dated and signed on the lower right corner. Size of the support and subject : 136 x 165 cm. Painter and figurative engraver, Jacques Muller (Brussels, 1930-1997) is influenced by expressionism and non-figuration. He represents the world of the circus and then becomes interested in urban landscapes and biblical themes. Studied at Saint-Luc in Brussels, the Grande Chaumière in Paris and at Kokoschka's in Salzburg. Co-founder of the "Mouvement Réaliste", "Manus" and "Artes Bruxellae".
