SALMON (André). "Fortune". Autograph manuscript signed. 5 pa - Lot 162
SALMON (André). "Fortune". Autograph manuscript signed. 5 pages in-8° mounted on Arches paper protected by a serpente (plus the printed text attached), brown half-chagrin, smooth spine, long title. Amusing tale published in "Paris-Journal" on January 12, 1912 which features a "mystical" painter reduced to painting pebbles and a "libertarian and symbolist" poet with their companion the Roman. To survive, they sell fake coins. Memory perhaps of the years of misery of André Salmon (1881-1969) French writer, poet, novelist, journalist and art critic. He is one of the great defenders of cubism with Apollinaire and Raynal.
