[Japan].—MITSUBUMI (Tosa). Eight Views of Omi after Tosa Mitsuoki. Accordion-style album, bound in silk brocade, containing the complete series of 8 views of Omi hand-painted on silk by Tosa Mitsubumi (1812–1879), a painter of the Imperial Academy. The hand-painted endpapers depict chrysanthemums, the official emblem of the Japanese Imperial Family (front endpaper detached, edges rubbed, interior in very fresh condition).
