Paris, Rombaldi, 1952, 8°, red half-shagreen with corner pieces, spine with 4 raised bands, title and head gilded, cover preserved. A numbered copy on cream-colored Marais vellum. Jean Gradassi’s copperplate engravings were printed on Delahaye’s hand-cranked presses and enhanced with stencils by Edmond Vairel. Included is a large stencil in gouache and watercolor by Gradassi, signed and mounted in a gilded, molded wooden frame. Frame dimensions: 40 x 32 cm; image dimensions: 28 x 21 cm. This plate depicts Marco Polo on horseback, alongside several miniature scenes of life and imperial palaces during the reign of Kublai Khan in China. This is an illustration created for the book *The Wonderful Journeys of Marco Polo* by Antonio Aniante, published in the early 1960s by Éditions d’Art Sefer.
