DELEUZE (Gilles). Handwritten letter, dated 1985, addressed - Lot 611
DELEUZE (Gilles). Handwritten letter, dated 1985, addressed to Belgian photographer Marc Trivier (1960-2024). In this letter, Gilles Deleuze thanks Marc Trivier for sending him two photos: "(...) I have just received the photos. They are of great strength and beauty. And as these are the two men I admire most, I can't tell you how touched I am by your letter (...)". Gilles Deleuze is probably talking about Francis Bacon and Samuel Beckett. He wrote a fine essay on the former (Logique de la sensation) and one or more articles on the latter. These 2 photos are among Marc Trivier's most emblematic and well-known.
