MERRY.- SALLENGRES (A.-H.). Éloge de l'ivresse. Illustrations by Jo Merry. Paris, Éditions de la Couronne, 1945, 4°, br. with full cover, publisher's folder and slipcase (defr.). Edition illustrated with 92 plates, a frontispiece (etching), 24 hors-texte, 35 bandeaux and 32 culs-de-lampe, drawn by Jo Merry. Limited edition of 700 copies on vélin chiffon du Marais, of which one of two hundred is enriched with a suite in black and a suite in color of the hors-texte. Beautiful illustrated edition of this famous text written in the 18th century by Albert-Henri Sallengres (1694-1723). Jo Merry, whose real name was René Mérigeault, was an illustrator very close to Gus Bofa.
