CURLET (François). Reunion of 8 volumes. Includes: "Commerci - Lot 600
CURLET (François). Reunion of 8 volumes. Includes: "Commercial Break" series (4 vols. in-32 oblong, br.); Croquemitaine (sketchbook published in 2006 at 330 copies); 3 untitled catalogs, printed at 450 or 1000 copies (dated between 1994 and 2003). François Curlet (Paris, °1967) moved to Belgium at the age of 22. Dividing his life between several cities, Brussels became his anchorage point. He incorporates the lessons of his Belgian predecessors (Jef Geys, Marcel Broodthaers) and forges strong friendships with Belgian artists of his generation (Michel François, Ann Veronica Janssens, etc.). François Curlet began exhibiting in the 1990s for group shows in Belgium and abroad, and was offered monographic exhibitions in Belgian galleries at the same time. In 2018, the MAC's in Grand-Hornu is devoting a major retrospective to François Curlet, entitled "Crésus et Crusoé". A fine ensemble.
