SCAPULA (Johannes). Lexicon graeco-latinum, E probatis Aucto - Lot 15
SCAPULA (Johannes). Lexicon graeco-latinum, E probatis Auctoribus locupletatum, cum indicibus, Et Graeco & Latino, auctis, & correctis. Amsterdam, Blaeuw & Elzevir, 1652, fort in-folio, full vellum with cold decoration on the boards, 6-rib spine. Ex-libris ms. of Fernand Séverin, French-speaking Belgian poet (1867-1931), member of the Académie royale de Langue et de Littérature françaises de Belgique. Scapula's Lexicon contains some 60,000 entries, an abridgement of the four volumes of Robert Estienne's Thesaurus Linguae Latinae of 1532. Its popularity was enhanced by its single-volume format. A fine copy of this important edition.
