LANGE (Dorothea), SCHUSTER TAYLOR (Paul). An American Exodus - Lot 926
LANGE (Dorothea), SCHUSTER TAYLOR (Paul). An American Exodus. A Record of Human Erosion. New York, Reynal and Hitchcock, 1939, small 4°, 158 p., publisher's cloth with gold titling, dust jacket (lower edge of cover slightly rubbed, edges of dust jacket slightly damaged). First edition (the dust jacket is not that of the 1st printing). In 1938, Dorothea Lange and her husband Paul Taylor began sorting through piles of photographs taken of migrant farm workers and homeless drought refugees. Rather than tell the story from their own point of view, Lange and Taylor used quotes from the migrants themselves. Rare copy with dust jacket.
