BRAQUE.- TUDAL (Antoine). Souspente. Preface by Pierre Reverdy. With an eight-color lithograph by Georges Braque. Paris, R.-J. Godet, 1945, 4°, 35 p., br. in a loose mauve Auvergne paper folder (without slipcase, false-title pitted, interior very fresh). The cover of our copy has been replaced by a blank white vellum paper cover. An original edition of 125 numbered copies on Rives vellum, featuring an original full-page lithograph by Georges Braque (frontispiece). Enriched with a letter from the author and 12 black photographs of the artist in his studio. Antoine Tudal (1931-2010) was a French playwright, screenwriter, actor and writer. Son of Jeannine Guilloux and Olek Teslar, he joined Nicolas de Staël's family shortly after his mother became the painter's companion in 1937.
