PROKOFIEV (Sergei). Handwritten postcard from Stockholm, dat - Lot 81
PROKOFIEV (Sergei). Handwritten postcard from Stockholm, dated November 4, 1925, addressed to Charles Munch: "Dear Sir, thank you for your kind letter; I'm delighted that you've scored a hit with my concerto. The reviews are amusing, provincial. Passing through Cologne, I saw the Szenkars, and we talked about you. I hope to send you my new violin pieces soon. Best regards from my wife and myself. Yours faithfully". The Szenkars referred to in the letter are: Eugen Szenkar (1891-1977) and his family. The latter was a German-Brazilian conductor of Hungarian origin. In 1925, he succeeded Otto Klemperer at the Cologne Opera.
