"Thank you for inviting me to your circle's next event, and I gladly accept to hold a few works at your disposal. In this way, I hope that a misunderstanding will be cleared up, for I regret my silence, which was quite involuntary: indeed, I don't recall having received any correspondence in which you already proposed that I take part in an exhibition. I am therefore waiting to hear from you about the time when I will have to assemble the works I will lend you [...]. On the second page, he gives a brief bio and bibliography, and ends with "Croyez cher Monsieur, à mes meilleurs sentiments et à mes souhaits de réussite de l'entreprise que vous préside et qui a toute ma sympathie, René Magritte". Emile Lempereur (Charleroi, 1909-2009) is a Walloon-speaking Belgian writer and a figure of the Walloon Movement.
