BLOY (Léon). Le Pal. Paris, Penin et Soirat (Marc Bloy, imprimeur du Pal, rue Bleue, 7, Paris), nos. 1-3 (March 4, 11 and 25, 1885), 3 fasc. in-12 (17.5 × 11.5 cm), 95 pp. (continuous pagination), orange-red cover (1 cover heavily blackened, scattered spotting on 1st vol.). The cover is illustrated by Uzès, alias Valentin Lemot, depicting a palm tree with four people being tortured, one of whom represents Jules Grévy, at the foot of which Bloy, dressed as a Turk, is quietly smoking his pipe. Beginning of the first text: "I have long sought a way to make myself unbearable to my contemporaries". Three of the four volumes published during Bloy's lifetime.
