MULLER (Jacques). "Brooklyn" (ca. 1982). Acrylic on canvas, mounted on stretcher, titled, dated and signed lower right. Size of support and subject: 136 x 165 cm. A figurative painter and engraver, Jacques Muller (Brussels, 1930-1997) was influenced by expressionism and non-figuration. He depicted the world of the circus, then turned his attention to urban landscapes and biblical themes. Studied at Saint-Luc in Brussels, La Grande Chaumière in Paris and with Kokoschka in Salzburg. Co-founder of "Mouvement Réaliste", "Manus" and "Artes Bruxellae".
