Jonquières, 1926, 4°, unpaginated, bradel full publisher's paperback, smooth spine with title page, illustrated cover (spine rubbed and restored, endpapers browned). First edition printed at 540 copies, num. 1/500 Arches, illustrated with 45 original woodcuts, engraved and stenciled by Pierre Roy. Fine typography. A French painter, Pierre Roy (1880-1950) took part in the first Surrealist painters' exhibition in 1925, alongside Giorgio De Chirico, Max Ernst and Pablo Picasso. In 1926, he held his first private exhibition, whose catalog was prefaced by Louis Aragon.
