COCTEAU (Jean).
"Orpheus with lyre, right profile" (1962). Glazed earthenware plate, hand-painted, dated, signed and dedicated in fine gold on the back. Unique piece made in Agen in 1962, probably commissioned by Jean Bechade Labarthe (friend, magistrate and man of letters) for the collector couple Louis and Renée Causse. Size: 24 cm diameter. May form a counterpart to the other plate sold in our sale.
