TAPTOE.- Reunion of 3 ephemera of the Taptoe... - Lot 898 - Les ventes Damien Voglaire SRL
TAPTOE.- Reunion of 3 ephemera of the Taptoe gallery in Brussels: 1. invitation card published on the occasion of the opening of the Taptoe art center, its exhibition room, meeting room and bar on December 22, 1955.2. invitation card for the exhibition "Art of Oceania" (collection J. van der Straete) from November 17 to December 16, 1956).3. invitation card for the private exhibition of Antoine Mortier, from March 1 to 18, 1957. On December 22, 1955, the Taptoe Gallery opens its doors. An exhibition of Asger Jorn's work was scheduled for the opening, but it never saw the light of day. From the outset, there was a French contribution, that of Édouard Jaguer and Phases, his art group. Organizing at the same time the First international confrontation of experimental art in Paris, he wished to assert his visibility in Brussels. The withdrawal of Jorn allowed the installation of a collective event welcoming artists resulting from various formations, following the example of Camille Bryen, Jacques Hérold, Yasse Tabuchi, Pierre Alechinsky, Hugo Claus, Rene Guiette, Roel of Haese and Serge Vandercam.
