One of the very first avant-garde magazines where we find, next to the names of Apollinaire, Albert-Birot, Cocteau, Cendrars, Reverdy, Max Jacob, etc., those of the future dadaists and surrealists: Tristan Tzara, Aragon, Breton, Picabia, Radiguet, Philippe Soupault, Salmon, etc.. A large place is also given to the Futurist Movement. Proses, poems, critical essays on modern art and literature. Illustrations and woodcuts by Chana Orloff, Giacomo Balla, Pierre Albert-Birot, Serge Férat, etc. Among this set the number dedicated to "Ballets russes. Cubists and Futurists", as well as the review of "Mamelles de Tirésias". The very rare booklet "Manifestation SIC" of June 24, 1917 is attached. P., SIC, 1917, 4° oblong booklet of 8 p., stapled (ex. in bad condition with numerous marginal damages restored). First edition published on the occasion of the first performance of "Les Mamelles de Tiresias" at the Maubel Conservatory on June 24, 1917, this publication includes a drawing by Picasso, an original full-page woodcut by Henri Matisse, the list of characters and actors, poems by Max Jacob, Jean Cocteau, Pierre Reverdy and Pierre-Albert Birot. Nice set.
