Catalogues Berggruen.-
Meeting of 30 catalogs of the famous Parisian gallery. Various dates: from 1963 to 1998. Several original covers printed in lithography: Alechinsky, Arroyo, Henry Moore, Motherwell, Wunderlich, and a few others. Condition as new (except for a small wetness on the cover of the Lucian Freud catalog). Heinz Berggruen (1914-2007) was a German journalist, collector, gallery owner and art dealer. In 1947, he moved to Paris where he opened a gallery in the Place Dauphine. André Breton, Paul Éluard, Tristan Tzara soon serve as intermediaries with artists. Berggruen acquired an international reputation in the field of printmaking, notably after organizing the first exhibition of Klee's engravings in 1950 and that of Matisse's "papiers découpés" in 1953. He was also a close friend of Picasso. Nice set.
