ARNAOUT (Aïcha). Fragments of water and other poems. Texts selected and translated from Arabic (Syria) by Abdellatif Laäbi. Preface by Adonis. First edition. 1/20 copies of the first number on Arches vellum, enhanced with paintings and drawings by Sakher Farzat. Born in 1943 in Banias in Syria, Sakher Farzat spent his childhood in this small coastal town. He then moved with his family to Damascus where he began to apply himself to painting. In 1961, he joined the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus. He taught at the Faculty of Architecture, then at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Damascus until 1976. He then left for Rio de Janeiro for an open residency. In 1977, he settled permanently in Paris and devoted himself entirely to painting.
