First edition printed at 878 copies. 1/3 copy on Japon impérial, hors commerce, signed by the author (Avermaete, B9). A German edition of 1981 is included, in a common slipcase. This masterpiece of Frans Masereel tells in 83 images the life of an idea. This "visual novel" retains its poetic, symbolic and political force to this day. Very rare copy on Japon.
