[Les XX].

[VAN GOGH] The XX. Catalog of the VIIth annual exhibition. Brux, Impr. Vve Monnom, 1890, booklet in-16, br. First edition. At this exhibition, Vincent Van Gogh exhibited two paintings from the series "Les Tournesols" as well as "Le Lierre" (Ivy), "Verger en fleurs" (Arles), "Champ de blé au soleil levant" (Saint-Rémy) and "La Vigne rouge" (The Red Vine), which he sold to Anna Boch (it is the only painting he never sold). On January 16, the day before the opening, Henry de Groux decided not to exhibit at the Salon, not wishing to see his work next to "the execrable Pot de soleils de Monsieur Vincent", which led to his exclusion from the Cercle des XX. The other guests of this 7th edition, are notably : Paul Cézanne, Lucien Pissarro, Odilon Redon, P.-A. Renoir, Paul Signac, A. Sisley and H. de Toulouse-Lautrec. Nice copy.
