La Légende humaine represented, for the first time, in Antwerp [...] on the occasion of the general assembly of the Federation of Belgian lawyers, on December 12, 1896 (Antwerp, Buschmann, 1896), in-12 square, full water green silk, gilt title on the upper board, case (russeting on the back). First edition. 1/25 copies on Van Gelder handmade paper, the only large paper. Handwritten note at the justification: "Offered to Mr. G. Lemmers / as a sign of thanks / from the author / A. Dupont" "and from his collaborator / Charles Dumercy". Rare booklet illustrated with 6 vignettes printed in black by Max Elskamp (de Saedeleer, 89).
