TAPTA - Set including postcards, invitation... - Lot 840 - Les ventes Damien Voglaire SRL
TAPTA - Set including postcards, invitation cards, press kits, catalogs and other articles (including 1 signed booklet, edited to 100 copies). Various dates: from 1973 to 2011. Tapta (Koscian, Poland, 1926 - Brussels, 1997) studied at La Cambre in Brussels, then stayed in the Belgian Congo from 1950 to 1960. She directed the workshop of flexible sculpture at La Cambre from 1976 to 1990, and the workshop "Structure" of the Tapestry Foundation in Tournai from 1980. Trained in the arts of weaving, she renews the traditional genre of textiles by means of structures and ropes. She turned to the sculptural form and created works in dialogue with the surrounding space. Thanks to her and others, tapestry will lose the connotation of minor art and work of lady that it often has in the public mind to become, at the antipodes, sculpture in full. An abstract and geometric sculpture. Numerous personal and collective exhibitions: Veranneman Foundation in Kruishoutem, Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris, Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, Biennale of Venice, etc. Beautiful set.
