QUENEAU (Raymond).
One hundred thousand billion poems. P., Gallimard, 1961, 4° square, publisher's cloth, rhodoïd. Some mss corrections. First edition. 1/250 ex. hors commerce enriched with a sending : "to Pierre Desgraupes [journalist and manager of a French television channel, 1918-1993] / cordially / Queneau". Album realized according to the models of Massin, presented in the form of strips allowing to compose different sonnets. In preface a "Mode d'emploi" by Raymond Queneau, in postface a text of François le Lionnais : "A propos de la littérature expérimentale". "This little book allows anyone to compose at will a hundred thousand billion sonnets, all regular of course. It is a kind of machine to manufacture poems, but in limited number; it is true that this number, although limited, provides reading for nearly two hundred million years (by reading twenty-four hours on twenty-four)".
