PODOLSKI (Sophie). The Country where everything... - Lot 806 - Les ventes Damien Voglaire SRL
PODOLSKI (Sophie). The Country where everything is allowed. Brux, Montfaucon Research Center, 1972, in-12, br. with yellow illustrated cover. First edition. Sophie Podolski (1953-1974) is a Belgian poet and graphic artist. She published only one book in her very short life, "The Land Where Everything is Permitted", whose poems were reproduced in her artistic handwriting for the original 1972 edition (a typeset edition followed in 1973). She suffered from schizophrenia and spent time in psychiatric clinics in Paris and Brussels. She attempted suicide in Brussels on December 19, 1974 and died a few days later. Wiels presented in 2018 the very first exhibition dedicated to Sophie Podolski. Extremely rare first edition.
