Photoglyptie is an opto-mechanical process of reproduction and printing of photographic images invented by the British Walter Bentley Woodbury in 1864. It is an unalterable photomechanical printing process intended to replace silver prints and allowing the distribution in large numbers at lower costs. This process was a huge success for thirty years because it was almost impossible to distinguish the photoglyptic print from the original photograph / Set of 2 pieces.
