VERBOOM (René). Meeting of a dozen unpublished... - Lot 225 - Les ventes Damien Voglaire SRL
VERBOOM (René). Meeting of a dozen unpublished manuscripts, titled and signed: "Pavillon", "Rouge, bleu, jaune, noir, gris, blanc", "Paysage", Itinéraire du songe", "Amitié", "Pourquoi ? The poem "Paysage" is accompanied by an original watercolor monogrammed P.B. (Paul Breyer ?). Text in black ink on cream paper or white ink on black paper. Manuscripts in sheets, gathered under 3 covers with title piece. Sulphurous man, hostile and battling, Rene Verboom (Mons, 1891-1955) will have haunted a whole generation of poets, as much by his incoherence appearance as by the rarity of his texts. First poet of the sensual love - on the mode of Eluard, but a decade before him - he knew how to remain luminous and simple in his search of absolute. Suddenly become neo-classical, he aligns then heavy verses, pompous but crossed of superb successes of detail. At the end of his life, comparable to that of Antonin Artaud, he wrote mystical pages with haunting litanies, of an unbearable density ("La poésie francophone de Belgique", Editions Traces, 1987).
