"Marcel Schwob's Mimes follow one another with increasing dramatic intensity, starting from anecdotal scenes in which hedonism is the main thread, to arrive at a tragic epilogue featuring Daphnis and Chloe, who died prematurely and gradually lost their taste for the things of the Earth that they loved so much while they were alive.
