A fine copy. Various ownership marks including small stamp on title). Contents include the extant historical works of Roman statesman and author Caius Crispus Sallustius (86-35 BC) forcibly taking over the Roman government. "De bello Jugurthino" tells of the war of succession in Numidia (111-104 BC) where Roman forces sought to intervene in the power struggle between King Jugurtha and his brother. Fragments of other historical writings. This edition of Sallustus was printed by Robert Estienne, the French printer-scholar best known for his fine typography and quality editions of the classics.
