MICHA (Maurice). "Seated Nude" (ca 1930). Charcoal on paper, signed in the lower left corner, mounted under passe-partout. Size passe-partout : 35 x 25 cm ; subject : 24,5 x 15 cm (fine foxing). Maurice Micha (1890-1969) trained with Constand Montald at the Academy of Brussels, and then perfected his skills in Italy. From 1927 to 1956 he taught drawing and art history at the Academy of Leuven, he painted and drew countless street views, monuments, picturesque corners and views of farms in Houffalize, being thus somewhat considered as a documentalist and iconographic archivist of this municipality. He represented the Belgian pavilion at the "Exposition Universelle" in New York in 1939. Work in the Museum of Ixelles.
