"Le Canard sauvage". Paris, from March to October 1903, 31 issues bound in 1 vol. 4°, bradel red half-rexine, title piece on smooth spine, illustrated covers cons. Complete collection of this satirical weekly edited by Edmond Chatenay. This magazine only published unpublished texts and drawings. Authors : Alfred Jarry, Tristan Bernard, Anatole France, Franc Nohain, Octave Mirbeau, Jules Renard, Charles Louis Philippe, etc. Illustrations in black and in colors of Willette, Vallotton, Steinlen, Kupka, Caran d'Ache, Poulbot, Roubille, Iribe, Sem, Galanis, Hermann-Paul and Cappiello. Kupka collaborated in almost all the issues, realizing with Hermann-Paul and Vallotton the greatest number of illustrations of this magazine. Alfred Jarry collaborated to all the issues (except the issue 11 dedicated to Finland and entirely written by Pierre Quillard), the issue 4 contains the famous humorous text of Jarry entitled "La Passion considérée comme course de côte" in which he describes the ascent of Golgotha by Christ, on a bicycle. Rare complete.
