BROODTHAERS (Marcel).
"Phantomas" (1959). Monochrome serigraphy printed on fine black paper, decorated with a square captioned "a number thirteen was dedicated to literature" and embellished with numerous aphorisms by Broodthaers, Chavée, Guiette, and a few others. Plate mounted under black frame. Brux, Impr. Kumps, 1959, frame size : 57 x 77 cm ; 52,5 x 72 cm (various folds). Marcel Lecomte comments on this poster: "Marcel Broodthaers loved this document to bits. When he saw it in my presence at our printer Kumps, he literally went into a trance, wondering how our man had been able to make the golden square. He claimed to be jealous of it, and remembered it for his silkscreens on black paper published in 1972 and entitled Museum" (Th. Koenig. History of Painting at Phantomas, Brussels, 1990, pp. 79-80).
