"La Revue du cinéma" (new series). Paris, 1946-49, 18 vol. 8° (out of 19 in total), br. Complete collection except for the last issue. "La Revue du cinéma" is a monthly magazine founded by Jean George Auriol in 1928 under the title "Du cinéma". Renamed in October 1929 "La Revue du cinéma" has as collaborators André Gide, Marcel Aymé, Robert Aron, Jacques Brunius, Louis Chavance, Paul Gilson. The publication was suspended in 1932 and reappeared in 1946 with Gallimard, still under the direction of Auriol, with the participation of André Bazin, Jacques Doniol-Valcroze and Joseph-Marie Lo Duca. Its publication ceases definitively in October 1949, with the n° 20. In 1951, several of his former collaborators created "Les Cahiers du cinéma", a magazine dedicated to the memory of Auriol who had died in a car accident the previous year.
