RASSENFOSSE - BAUDELAIRE (Charles). Les Fleurs du Mal. Paris, Les Cent Bibliophiles, 1899, 4°, 423 p., ornate publisher's binding, lined slipcase (spines and nerves slightly rubbed, a few browned leaves). Deluxe edition of 115 copies on vellum, not sold. Nominative copy : n° 34 for Jules Comte. Unique work including 1 frontispiece, 5 chapter titles, 158 illustrations, and culs-de-lampe by Armand Rassenfosse. At the end of the volume, 6 test plates (Rouir has 9). The cover not preserved has been replaced by an original cover in grease pencil and watercolor with gold highlights, monogrammed by Rassenfosse. This copy is enriched with 9 original full-page drawings signed by Rassenfosse, as well as a menu for the Société des Cent Bibliophiles (1896). The binding of this book is composed and executed by A. de Decker-Lemaire in full tan sow skin binding. The decoration of the front board in natural sow skin after the etching "Les Fleurs du Mal", by F. Bracquemond; the back board after the etching "L'Amour et le Crâne" by Rassenfosse (p. 381); the linings in natural calf after the "Pornocratès" and "La Feuille de Vigne" by Félicien Rops. (Rops, 1127-1293).
