CHAM. "Received at the reserved skating circle with all white balls" and "Why not also have it swept every six months?". Meeting of 2 original drawings in Indian ink, captioned, pasted on paper. Dim. drawing : (2 x) 9,5 x 16 cm (traces of use). Cham, pseudonym of Charles Amédée de Noé (1818-1879) is a talented caricaturist, having collaborated to many satirical newspapers of which the Charivari. He was one of the first to give stories in drawings that would soon be called comic strips and as such has a major place in the history of the comic strip in France.
