Painter, engraver and sculptor, brother of Antoine and Léopold Plomteux, Arthur-Maria Rener (René Plomteux) creates an unreal world, geometrical-futuristic. Initially, he painted figurative compositions and in the period 1950-1960, he also created abstract constructivist works, sometimes reminiscent of cave paintings. He also created sculptures that resembled totems and were close to African art. From 1960, he developed his definitive style.
