MANDELBAUM (Stéphane).
"Arthur Rimbaud I" (1980). Etching in black on wove paper, just. "H.C. II" in pencil. Posthumous print from 1987 bearing the dry stamp of the Stéphane Mandelbaum Foundation. Media size: 78 x 56 cm; subject: 24.6 x 19.9 cm (Moreau, 9). Gifted, "bad boy", instinctive and magnificent draughtsman, painter close to Bacon, Soutine and Schiele, Stéphane Mandelbaum (1961-1986) was murdered at the age of 25 in an obscure story of art trafficking. After the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Jewish Museum of Belgium will be holding a retrospective of the artist in 2019.
