SULLY PRUDHOMME (1839-1907), whose real name was René Prudho - Lot 110
SULLY PRUDHOMME (1839-1907), whose real name was René Prudhomme, was a French poet. He obtained the first Nobel Prize for Literature in 1901. Autograph letter signed, dated March 13, 1883, 1 page in-12, addressed to the journalist Eugène Yung (Paris, 1823-1897), director of the Revue politique et littéraire (Revue Bleue), who had a considerable part in the liberal movement. Sully Prudhomme apologizes at length for not being able to spend the following evening at the Yung's, as his state of fatigue does not allow him to do so.
